stabilizing a high school in 4 months

CASE STUDY

about the Project

We worked with the Principal and the Director of Pathways — both new to their roles — at a Title 1 high school in Brownsville, Brooklyn that had a history of negative culture and poor academic outcomes.

50% of staff roles were unfilled, 3 weeks before the First Day of School. Returning staff were confused about the school’s vision, and in lieu of leader clarity, chose to interpret the school’s vision to support their own desires, which resulted in vastly different expectations and experiences for students.
