exceeding high school standards in middle school

CASE STUDY

about the Project

Our goal upon taking on this project was to ensure that the middle school students in this network successfully passed 4 New York Regents exams (one in each of the 4 core contents) prior to entering high school.

As a group, the schools had a history of persistent academic failure against middle school standards, let alone against high school standards. They served 2,600 students across New York City, with 95% Black and/or Hispanic and 75% qualifying for Free/Reduced Price Lunch.

When we began, leaders held detrimental Beliefs that their students were not capable of meeting high school standards in middle school.
